Hi I’m Leby. I started Rocco’s Pack Dog Training in January of 2011 and since then I’ve been providing dog owners and their pets with premier, humane dog training services. I’m a native of Miami and have only left briefly for a B.S. in psychology at the University of Florida and for an M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Louisiana Tech University.
In a former life I spent my Monday through Friday developing, administering and evaluating selection and personnel assessment tools. Now I spend my days using hand signals and verbal cues to communicate with and train dogs. I spend a lot of time observing, catching and reinforcing canine and human behavior. Yes, that’s right, human behavior. Believe it or not, a big part of dog training is people training. Whew! It’s a good thing I have people skills too.
I also believe that a properly exercised dog is a better companion and often times daily walks, runs, swims and socialization outings are the medicine for a destructive and bored dog.
Probably, the most rewarding part of my job is rooted in my sense of social responsibility and my compassion and love for animals. I’m an educator at heart and my philanthropic spirit keeps me an active volunteer working with students, homeless dogs and local animal welfare organizations to bring awareness on important animal welfare initiatives.
